Impact of Fishery Facilities Assistance Program on Increasing Fishermen's Income in Barrang Caddi Island in Makassar City

The provision of fishing gear assistance to fishermen provides various facts and new phenomena in fishing communities. This condition directly impacts the economic income of fishermen from their catch. Barrang Caddi Island is a group of small islands located in Makassar City. Most of the people on Barrang Caddi Island work as fishermen and are recipients of aid for fishing gear. This study aimed to identify forms of capture fisheries facilities assistance and analyze the impact of the fisheries facilities assistance program for fishermen on Barrang Caddi Island in Makassar City. This research was conducted from January to March 2022 on Barrang Island, Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province. The research method used in this study uses Likert scale analysis to see the impact of aid for capture fisheries facilities on fishermen on Barrang Caddi Island. The results showed that the increase in the average income of fishermen/month from the assistance of capture fisheries facilities was Rp. 945,000/month. The assessment of 30 respondents to the capture fisheries facility assistance program can increase income, namely: 54% of respondents answered "Strongly Agree", 78.67% of respondents answered "Agree", 60.67% of respondents answered "Disagree", 6.67% of respondents who answered " Strongly Disagree” 0% of respondents who replied, “Disagree”.
